Wednesday: 9th Ward Senior Center

We worked at a senior center in the 9th ward. Mr. Sydney had the best stories. He even took a phone call from a friend. This friend was the son of Fats Domino. He is a personal friend of Fats!!! How cool!!! The kids initially weren't sure how to interact with the seniors but once we broke the BINGO game out it went well. We ran that game complete with prizes then we served their lunch & followed up with a rousing game of hot potato. Let me tell you those old gals were rough. I have never seen ladies that age be so competitive. The kids were surprised by their spunk & delighted with their reactions to the game. We followed this up with a trip to the French Quarter where we went to the French market & the Cathedral. How amazing it was. It rivaled those in Europe this year.
